The Bombers Loose Ring Ported Barrel (pictured below) allows for immediate release and relief from tongue and bar pressure.
The bit is immediately reset to a neutral position in the horse’s mouth.
The Ported Barrel was created to relieve pressure on the tongue via the the medium port; as a result, this creates space for the tongue.
The barrel joint relieves pressure on the bars by spreading it over a larger area and limiting the nut cracker action of a conventional snaffle.
This bit is FEI and BD legal.
The picture, left, shows Benny, a horse with the eggbutt version.
The owner was a competition winner with Bombers Equestrian Equipment and Your Horse magazine.
Benny is reportedly really enjoying his Bombers Eggbutt Ported Barrel, with Debbie and her instructor both feeling Benny is lighter in the hand.
